Why Do You Need an Arizona Bill of Sale Form?

A Bill of Sale for a vehicle in Arizona must have identification details of all parties involved. These include full names, addresses, and contact lines. It must also have the vehicle's details, like the identification number, model, year, and make.

As of fall 2022, Arizona no longer requires a notarized signature for title transfer. While the MVD Bill of Sale form 48-2004 still has a notary section, it is not a necessity.

The purchaser will need to bring an ADOT Form 48-2004, the vehicle title and other documents to the DMV. This is needed to complete the process and then submit to an Arizona MVD office or an Authorized Third Party agent. Buyers must apply for a new title within 15 days after purchase to avoid penalties. The seller is also required to send a "Sold Notice" Form 46-8502 to the MVD within ten days of sale.
