Non-Competition Agreement - Example Document

The following agreement was made in conjunction with the purchase of a local restaurant by Parducci Restaurant, Inc., of a restaurant from William Seller. The intent of this agreement is to prevent the seller from opening a competing food service establishment in the city where the restaurant is located for a period of 4 years. This will enable the buyers to receive the benefits of the "goodwill" they paid for in buying the restaurant (and its loyal patrons), who may otherwise patronize any new restaurant opened in the same neighborhood by the seller.
